The Supreme Court ban on traditional sports Jallikattu of Tamilnadu has courted much controversy and triggered massive protests in the state amid demands by the state government to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an ordinance enabling the holding of the traditional bull-taming sport. Ravi Shankar, the founder of the Art of Living Foundation has backed the sentiment of Tamilnadu people and raised certain issues which are violating the laws. Ravi Shankar has defended his statement citing the example of the Kumbh Mela and others.
