Even as Vardah cyclone set upon a blistering trail of destruction and damage in Tamil Nadu and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (AP), authorities were trying to take all steps to move people to safer places. At Tirumala, devotees were being told to stay put in their allotted accommodations and not venture out. The streets in Tirumala are flooded, as heavy rain with high speed winds has been lashing the place since this morning. At Sullurupet in Nellore, an oil tanker tumbled over, due to high speed winds. Power has been shut off in most places. The situation is going to take worse turn, as heavy rains have been predicted even tomorrow.
