A pregnant woman in Goduswamy Kandriga village of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh is recovering from burn injuries after an acid attack by her in-laws. The attack on Girija came last month after an reportedly astrologer assured her mother-in-law that she was carrying a girl. S Girija, 27, already has one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Girija’s relatives alleged that police are supporting to mother-in-law Lakshmikanthamma.
