Farmers in limbo as onion price falls to 20 paise a kg in MP
Onions have been selling for as little as 20 paise a kilo at the wholesale market in Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh. The surplus is bad news for farmers, many of whom have been also abandoning sacks of bags at the market after failing to get buyers. A distressed farmer said that he was not getting minimum support price for onions. Another farmer said only businessmen are earning profits and not farmers.
