World Bank funds 20 million dollars to Visakha Indira Gandhi Zoo
After Visakhapatnam being devastated by Hudhud cyclone, the World Bank has agreed to extend an assistance of USD 20 million to help reconstruct the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP). This is part of the USD 370 million Andhra Pradesh Disaster Recovery Project for which the bank is extending assistance of USD 250 million from 2015-2020. It is to be mentioned here that cyclone Hudhud had affected about 9.2 million people in over 7,285 villages in 4 coastal districts of the Andhra Pradesh state.
