Watch: The legacy of India's 'missile man'
Former president APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India and he was the brain behind the multiple nuclear tests carried out at the Pokhran test range. Kalam joined the Aeronautical development establishment of DRDO in 1960. He started his career by designing a small helicopter for the Indian Army. He was transferred to ISRO in 1969. He was with ISRO till the early 1980s. He was popularly known as missile man.
