Night curfew: SEC likely to reduce poll campaign duration for urban local body elections
The State Election Commission (SEC) is contemplating to reduce the poll campaign duration for the urban local body elections in the wake of the Telangana government issuing a GO imposing night curfew to stop the spread of the novel and deadly coronavirus. The SEC will be holding elections to two municipal corporations and five municipalities. However, leaders of various political parties are in confusion with the imposition of night curfew. As per the SEC rule, political parties can conduct election campaign from 6 am to 10 pm. Majority public meetings will be held from 6 pm to 10 pm.
